The City of Cleveland’s kennel is filled to capacity as more than 100 dogs wait to be adopted into forever homes. With more dogs entering the shelter every day, the kennel urges loving families to adopt in order to get more CITY DOGS out of the kennel and into permanent homes.
The adoption fee is $61 and all adoptable dogs are vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed/neutered and licensed by Cuyahoga County.
The Division is also encouraging owners to look at the kennel if their pet goes missing. Missing dog listings are posted here and updated regularly.
The city kennel is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Adoptable CITY DOGS can be viewed at www.petango.com/cacc or at the kennel, located at 2690 West 7th St.
In December 2018, the kennel will move to the Cudell Neighborhood at Detroit Avenue and West 93rd Street. The new kennel is made possible by Issue 32. Click here to read more about the new location.
Walk-in adoptions are accepted, but appointments are encouraged. Make an appointment to meet with an Adoption Counselor by emailing citydogs@city.
